Poem - Bloody Fingers
64Background
Biserka reached for the knife
and we held our collective breath
stories of her temper legend
among the Bric a Brac
visions of filet fingers
this reunion perhaps a char-ade
to lure us to this deserted beach
Livelonger struggled to interpret her intentions
as he backed towards the door
then...
the phone rang
in a flash Biserka was chatting cheerily to a neighbour
the moment passed
but on dark winter nights in an alternative world
the deathly quiet of the cottage is disturbed
the winter waves whisper
Dobar tek! Dobar tek!
and rows of bloody fingers march in formation
on the chopping board
desno lijevo desno lijevo desno lijevo
Translation
Dobar tek! Dobar tek! = Bon Appetit
desno lijevo desno lijevo desno lijevo = Right Left Right Left
...thanks Livelonger

I was rather taken with the rows of bloody fingers marching in formation.
I really am not much for the morib stuff now a days. I like light heartedness. Must be age. Your poem did however take me back to younger days when as a kid we would sit around the lunch table at school and try to gross each other out! Happy writing

How morbid! ;-)
Thanks for the funny read! I assure you Biserka is as sweet as the grapes she grows in her summerhouse. But still, I laughed...
slijeva means "from the left"
lijevo means "left"
right in the sense of direction is "desno"
("pravo" means right as in human rights)
so it would be "desno lijevo desno lijevo"
