Draxisms - The First Three Years

where did those three years go... on the 15th of August 2006 I published my first hub... I was (and still am ) excited about the Hubpages concept and decided to go for broke... at least until someone stopped me and so I became;-

"The Offical Hub Poet" ...unofficially...

The first hub was more like a blog, it went and on and then I think it was Robin who said, look split them up... thanks Robin.. laughs...

In the early days Hubpages was a small close knit global community :-) . There were a lot of high points but one was definitely the threshold of 100 hubs, we were all scrambling to get the coveted star so it seemed natural to pay homage with a little poem called Hub Junkies ... at the time I said;-

..it was one of those 'mad parties on the beach' type experience..

the CEO.. THE Paul Edmondson had an interesting night... as did the the Hummer Winblad rep... :-)

There are Hub centric poems written from something I saw on hubpages, but one of the most interesting and challenging for me was based on Suorek's hubs, the message was.. Emotions are alien to me and so I wrote this poem in Vulcan...thanks Suorek... taken from the actual Vulcan dialogue in Star Trek... yeah I had a lot of time on my hands... LOL...

'Poem' - Emotions are alien to me

That-one so human
Why am I here? What was I meant to be?
Change is the essential process of all existence
Pain is a thing of the mind. The mind can be controlled.
Fear amongst emotions: most strong and most violent
Not even Vulcans can know The Unknown
To have, not so pleasurable as to want.
Exists not with logic, but often true.
Our ancestors cast out their animal passions here on these sands
It touches your human blood, Suorek
Not one among us perfect
Logic is the beginning of wisdom not the end
Live long and prosper, Suorek....

I would like to say a big thank you to Paul and all the team at Hubpages for the opportunity to express myself creatively here, I love hubpages... :-) ... thanks lads and lassies...

It was never about the money, although I do know that people are making decent money on hubpages, I usually set ads to low... somewhat ironically I have less time now since I have to work in RL in the RW... boring boring... but as poet I don't really do money I'm always broke anyway.

I need to sit down and write a poem about this some of these days... yeah yeah mañana mañana
